We are so happy with our new home on lot #22 at Brisas. Here’s a quick little tour looking at what life is like living in Nicaragua with our 5 month old baby girl Luna.

Lot #22 House Tour
Holly and Kim Obermeyer have been working hard on building their house for the past six months in preparation for the arrival of their baby girl who is due Sept 7th. Right on schedule, the house is nearly finished the first week of August and they are starting to think about moving in. Check out a tour of the house on lot #22.
House in Progress Tour on Lot #22
In Part 2 of our Nesting in Nicaragua series, Holly is one week shy of being six months pregnant and the house has been under construction for five months. The roof is mostly on and you can start to get a feel for what the house will look like. Take a tour of the interior floor plan.

Brisas Has A New Water Tower
Brisas has made some serious upgrades to it’s water system. In this photo you can see the older hand-dug well (covered by the green roof) that is already connected to the lots in Phase 1 with underground pipes. Brisas has recently installed several new machine-drilled deep wells (one of which is visible in this photo – the concrete block with white tube sticking up) to ensure an ample water supply for all lots.
The new water tower is also complete which will be outfitted with a 10,000 Gallon tank that will provide gravity fed water to all the lots in Phase 1.
Transworld “Go There” – Northern Nicaragua
Ok, ok, the secret is out. While the Northern stretch of Nicaragua’s coastline is still much less packed with dudes dragging boardbags than the South, it doesn’t mean it’s a secret anymore. The boys at Transworld Surf visited sometime last year with a crew of pros and filmed a few sessions out at the Boom. Thankfully they don’t actually mention the name of the spot, leaving a little effort required to potential followers. It doesn’t look like they totally scored, but put the best surfers in the world out at a punchy beachbreak and they will make it look fun! Check it out.

Tour of Lots #14 and #17
A tour by Kim Obermeyer of a couple of lots in the Brisas Del Alma development. This clip was filmed on a windy day in the dry season, soon after the land was burned to clear brush. In a month or two it will be nice and green again, but this gives you an idea of what the lots look like.
Amigas Surf the Island Point
If the Boom isn’t happening or you aren’t into thumpy beach breaks, the island point is a fun left accessible by a very short boat ride. Check out these ladies enjoying the point on a fun swell in December.
Local Surfer Artist Elton Sanchez
Elton Sanchez is a local kid from Asseradores that has only been surfing a little over 5 years. With constant exposure to good waves and pro surfers, he is one of a handful of local kids in the area pulling stylish airs, trying flips, and getting super sick tubes.
The difference between Elton and some of the others is that he always has a smile on his face in the water. He’s watched his homebreak transform from a secret spot to a sought out surf destination but he doesn’t mind. He’s stoked no matter what.

He’s also an artist with prints, canvases, and murals available.
